The Connells are a “college rock” (remember that term?) band based out of Raleigh, North Carolina. They were one of the many bands whose popularity swept through my high school like a firestorm in the late ‘80’s and early ‘90’s.
The Connells were formed from the fires of Southern bands R.E.M. and the dB’s, with “jangly” Rickenbacker guitars and introspective lyrics.
This song is “Ten Pins”, from their third album Fun & Games.
