Sunny Day Real Estate

The on-again, off-again, on-again relationship that is Sunny Day Real Estate released The Rising Tide in 2000.

In 1995, lead-singer Jeremy Enigk found God and a solo career (look for The Return of the Frog Queen) and disbanded the original lineup of SDRE. William Goldsmith and Nate Mendel left to join a band you may have heard of, the Foo Fighters. In 1998, SDRE reformed again, released two more albums, then disbanded, only to re-reform (sorta) as The Fire Theft, then re-re-reform, as SDRE, in 2009. Got all that?

I interviewed and recorded the reformed SDRE in 1998. Before I started an interview, I would always ask “Is there anything you don’t want to talk about?” as a courtesy. Jeremy immediately responded “God and my solo career,”. Point taken.

This is “Television” from Sunny Day Real Estate’s The Rising Tide.
