My friend Dustin spent a better part of late 2004 and early 2005 raving about a band from his home state of Tennessee, The Features. I chalked it up to “Fletcher believes the hype” until I had the opportunity to see them live at SXSW. I, too, became a believer, and returned to my hometown (and radio job) raving about this band and wanting to book them for our upcoming festival show.
Fast-forward a few months ahead and Fletcher and I are on-stage with the band playing maracas. It was a weird couple of months.
