I had the opportunity to interview members of Kasabian in 2004. I thought I’d impress them with my knowledge of British bands and culture, name-dropping bands like Stone Roses and other mainstays of the “Madchester” scene. I thought I was making an easy comparison to what Kasabian was doing in the early 21st century and what those bands were doing then.
Well, I was wrong. I was told by said members of Kasabian that they were “the new Rolling Stones”. While such a boast may not have been accurate in the long run, the band was at the top of their game at the time.
“Club Foot” is the lead-off track from Kasabian’s 2004 eponymous debut, and it’s awesome.
